1. What do I need to bring to sell coins or gold in Miami? Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Florida's secondhand dealer law (Chapter 538, Florida Statutes) generally requires dealers to record the seller's ID, a thumbprint, and contact details, and to get a signed statement of ownership. Sellers must be 18 or older.

2. Is there sales tax on gold and silver bullion in Florida? Florida exempts sales of gold, silver, and platinum bullion from sales tax as of August 1, 2025. U.S. legal-tender coins are also generally not taxed.
