1864 $2.50 Liberty PCGS AU53
This is one of the great rarities of the Quarter Eagle Liberty series. Actually proofs are more common than the business strike.
A great representative of the civil war this coin has all the characteristics of a great coin; historical significance, rarity and demand! A wonderful example this piece is shrouded in originality within the devices in a warm orange glow throughout.
This is the only AU53 graded by either service and with only 6 graded finer only validates its true rarity from a mintage of only 2,824 struck. This piece will satisfy the avid Quarter Eagle collector and the investor as well.

1879 $4 Flowing Hair Stella PCGS “OGH” PR55 CAC
Beginning in the 1870’s there was a movement for a unified international currency that would bridge several international currencies.
The $4 gold piece was proposed by John Kasson with a metallic content proposed by the metric system. The purpose of the $4 Stella was to facilitate international trade and travel for Americans.
Designed by Charles Barber, and with a mintage of 425 pieces, the flowing Hair version features Lady Liberty with loose flowing hair. The inscription 6G.3S.7C7 is found indicating the weights and standards of the coin.
The reverse a star adorns the center containing the words One Stella 400 cents. The Stella has become a bench mark in any world class numismatic cabinet.
This example housed in and Old Green Holder by PCGS graded PR55 and certified by CAC offers the prospective collector or investor a wonderful opportunity to add a historic piece. This is one of the nicest circulated Stella’s that we have handled!
